Awash with cash, with its own world cup, and a massive and enthusiastic fan base, it's fair to say that 20-over cricket is no longer a mere three-hour laugh.
It's much more than that. A spectacle for fans, a boon for domestic unions' coffers and a hefty salary for those fortunate enough to be a part of the Indian Premier League, the T20 format and the sport's most lucrative competition.
In addition to that, there's also the newly created Champions League, cricket's attempt to match football's lavish European intercontinental tournament, with a global T20 version involving the best domestic 20-over sides from the world.
