Tino Bernal wanted more than a good night's rest. So, during the first week of a long-term assignment starting this spring, he checked out of his standard $320-a-night hotel room and moved into the Beekman Tower, a Manhattan East Suite Hotel. He remained happily ensconced there for four months.

"The Beekman gave me the feeling of living in an apartment, but with the amenities of a hotel, and it saved the company more than $500 a month compared to the price of a hotel room half the size," says Mr. Bernal, a vice president for Citibank in Miami.
