EIGHTY new jobs were being made available today at a recruitment open day for those who want to play a vital role in supporting the needs of older people in Birmingham. The event, organised by the ExtraCare Charitable Trust, will find staff for the city's first retirement village at New Oscott when it opens in spring 2010.
ExtraCare is a partner in delivering Birmingham City Council's pioneering older person strategy, and the groundbreaking 260 apartment Village is built on local authority land, in partnership with Midland Heart and is supported by the Government's Homes and Communities Agency.
