Nov 12, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) has conditionally approved Woolworths' joint venture takeover of Danks. The ACCC said Woolworths and its partner, Lowe's, must comply with a series of legal undertakings as part of the $A87m deal, in a bid to protect the 1,400 independent hardware stores currently supplied by Danks.
