Article: Enforcement of Cheaper Medicines Act in full swing.

ILOILO CITY, Oct 22 (PNA) --The implementation of Republic Act 9502, or the Universally Accessible Cheaper and Quality Medicines Act of 2008, is now in full swing here, according to the Department of Health --Bureau of Food and Drugs 6 (DOH-BFAD 6).

Speaking before about 100 participants of the consumer welfare roadshow on Wednesday, BFAD regulation officer II Gemma Dabiano said that effective Sept. 15, all drug stores were supposed to adhere to the provisions of the law.

The law imposes maximum retail prices (MRP) on selected drugs, five of which are mandatory while 16 are voluntary.
