Article: Motor vehicle sales up 12.9 percent in October.(Financial report)

MANILA, Nov. 9 (PNA) -Motor vehicle sales reached 12,762 units in October this year, up 12.9 percent from the 11,304 units sold in September, the highest in the past two years.

Replacement purchases for flood-damaged cars, fleet sales and overseas workers remittances, bouyed the sales hike.

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) data shows that October sales also posted a significant 20.1 percent increase from 10,624 units a year ago.

The October performance has also brought the year to date sales to a positive 1.3 percent to 106,146 units from 104,757 units in the January-October period last year.
