"American Crystal Sugar Company is located in an area highly suited to the production of sugarbeets due to the climate and fertile soils. The region is well known for the long factory processing campaigns that normally operate in excess of 250 days," scientists in the United States report.
"These abnormally long campaigns are made possible by the severely cold winter climate that allows sugarbeet piles to be frozen and preserved beyond what is normally considered possible.
