Kollodis BioSciences, Inc. has announced the launch of its novel MAPTrix[R] ECM line of products for cell culture and related applications. The Mussel Adhesive Protein based matrix (MAPTrix[R]) ECM line of products are coating reagents with genetically incorporated bioactive peptides (recognition peptides) which mimic the extracellular matrix (ECM) activity of collagen, fibronectin, laminin, and vitronectin proteins. The bioactive peptide mimics the extracellular matrix (ECM) protein and provides for cell attachment, spreading and growth. The mussel adhesive protein confers biocompatible adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces (see also Bioscience).
