OSG America L.P. (OSG America or the Partnership) (NYSE:OSP), the largest operator of U.S. Flag product carriers and ocean-going barges transporting refined petroleum products, reported financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009.
For the third quarter ended September 30, 2009, the Partnership reported a net loss of $10.1 million, compared with a net loss of $9.7 million in the same period of 2008. Net loss in the third quarter of 2009 included impairment charges totaling $12.5 million related to the Overseas Philadelphia and Overseas Diligence.
