American Medical Systems Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMMD) reported revenue of $123.2 million for the third quarter of 2009, a 4.9 percent increase from revenue of $117.5 million in the comparable quarter of 2008. The strengthening of the U.S. dollar had a negative impact on revenue of $2.1 million in the third quarter compared to the prior year. Excluding the impact of foreign currency fluctuations, third quarter revenue grew 6.7 percent over the same period last year. On a GAAP basis, the Company reported 2009 third quarter net income of $28.6 million, or $0.38 per share, compared to net income in the same period last year of $3.5 million, or $0.05 per share.
