A security firm in Bedford Heights that for 27 years has monitored building security at Cleveland's public schools won't be doing that job by the end of the current academic year.
U.S. Protective Services lost the lucrative security contract to SecurityLink, a subsidiary of Chicago-based Ameritech, which plans to install its equipment in the Cleveland schools by the end of the school year despite a pending court case that challenges its new contract.
In a Sept. 8 hearing, Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge William Mahon rejected a request by U.S. Protective Services for a preliminary injunction that would prevent SecurityLink from installing and ...
