The fact that electric vehicles are inherently limited in terms of range can be effectively addressed with telematics solutions that provide the driver with continuous real-time information connecting them with the charging environment. In the future, distinct telematics service packages will evolve to include more features for EVs. Ranging from dynamic charging related POI, green navigation, smart vehicle, and grid communication, these services will develop from initially limiting range anxiety to theoretically conserving range by up to 30 percent and eventually enabling smart charging. On the whole, telematics is the key to ensuring a overall enjoyable EV ownership.
