According to the Paper Industry Association Council, a record-high 57.4 percent of the paper used in the U.S. in 2008 was recovered for recycling. And, while this figure represents progress, the paper industry has upped the ante by setting a goal of 60 percent for 2012.
This objective is just one of many initiatives the country celebrates on America Recycles Day on November 15th. Sponsored by the National Recycling Coalition, the awareness campaign has been designed to encourage Americans to recycle and buy recycled products.
