China is scheduled to receive 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas next year through the Central Asia Gas Pipeline linking the country with Turkmenistan, an official with the pipeline's operator said Wednesday.
Gas has already been pumped into the high-profile pipeline project, and 15 billion cubic meters of annual transmission capacity will officially come online in mid-December, said Kou Zhong, vice director of PetroChina Co.'s (PTR) China Petroleum Planning & Engineering Institute.
