The European Commission Wednesday said it has fined 10 chemical companies a total of EUR173 million for fixing the prices of heat stabilizers in two separate cartels.
Heat stabilizers are chemicals used in plastic products to increase their heat resistance, rigidity and protect products from discoloration.
