National carrier Air India today reported a post-tax loss of Rs 5,548.26 crore for fiscal 2008-09 against the background of the global economic an financial crisis which resulted in fewer passengers travelling and falling yields for airlines worldwide. The public sector airline's annual accounts for the year were approved by its Board of Directors which met in Chennai today.
