National Bank of Kenya Ltd., NIC Bank Ltd. and Barclays Bank of Kenya Ltd. rose as investors said the stocks declines this year were overdone after National Bank posted better-than-expected profit last week.
National Bank of Kenya, a state-owned lender, rallied 1.5 percent to 33.25 shillings in Nairobi trading, paring this year s slump to 23 percent. Barclays Kenya, the largest lender in East Africa s biggest economy, added 0.6 percent to 44.25 shillings. The stock has dropped 12.4 percent this year. NIC Bank, a Nairobi-based lender, added 0.9 percent to 29.25 shillings, paring its 2009 decrease to 26 percent.
