The wind, the waves, the rain and the tide conspired Thursday to close most of Hampton Roads, including the port. More of the same is expected this morning as a powerful nor'easter that stalled over the region slowly moves out .
Conditions are expected to clear today as the storm moves up the coast, lessening the winds that pushed tides Thursday evening to 7.74 feet, nearly as high as those caused by Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
However, tides this morning probably will cause problems for commuters again.
