New Orleans Collaborates with Local Community-Based Organization
A collaboration between the City of New Orleans Division of Housing and Neighborhood Development, the Seventh Ward Community Services Corporation, the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) and others will rehabilitate 50 homes this year in the St. Peter Claver part of the City. The project, called At Home in New Orleans, will revitalize a community that is among the oldest black neighborhoods in the nation. The renovated housing will be sold to first-time home buyers.
