Voice-over-IP technology still has more than a few kinks to work out, especially dealing with the issue of how IP networks affect voice traffic, and vice versa. Still, BCR's subscribers are optimistic about VOIP and believe that they'll be making major purchases of the technology over the next three years (see this issue, pp. 42-46). Taken together, these two facts suggest that there just might be a market for tools that enable managers to predict whether - or to what degree - their enterprise networks can support VOIP.
