THE PACESETTER
LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER
The Los Angeles Convention Center has undergone several major expansions since its opening in 1971. In 1993, a $500 million expansion and renovation project made the Convention Center one of the largest meeting facilities on the West Coast. And last year, Kentia Hall, an $8.5 million, 162,000-square-foot exhibit hall, was built below South Hall.
The expansion has contributed to an increase in both the number of conventions and in the number of attendants over the last six years. In 1992, five conventions drew only 18,278 people, whereas so far this year, ...
