THE CANADIAN MILITARY ATLAS
The prolific Mark Zuehlke, in addition to his military histories The Liri Valley: Canada's World War II Breakthrough to Rome, (see excerpt page 21), Ortona: Canada's Epic World War II Battle, and The Gallant Cause: Canadians in the Spanish Civil War, is also the author of the mystery novel Hands Like Clouds, for which he won the 2000 Arthur Ellis Award for Best First Novel. Somehow, in a very busy season in his life, has found time to write the text for The Canadian Military Atlas: The Nation's Battlefields from the French and Indian Wars to Kosovo.
Contrary to William Kilbourn's claim that Canada is "the peaceable kingdom" ...
