Contemporary political discourse in the West has largely become "discursive politics," which, defined by the "de-," "post-," and "the end of" terminology, is no more than postmodernists' soliloquy. Postmodernists do pay attention to the real world, but they only float on its surface -- they have little interest in or dismiss any relevance of "metanarrative," which pertain to the fundamental issues of the real world.
