The answer is simple. You win it by applying the powers of your armed forces - manpower and firepower - to their best advantage. These powers must be superior to those of the enemy and they must be adequately supported by the industrial, technological and moral powers, of the nation. Above all, spare your nation the colossal losses and sacrifices usually experienced in major wars, you best win a war by the peacetime fore-sight and wartime willpower of your statesmen and military leaders. No war in history has shown this more clearly than the recent US-led conflict in the Arabian desert.
