Bishop Kalman Csiha of Romania has lived through many changes in his country over the past four decades. He is praying there is more change to come.
That was the heart of the message the tall, soft-spoken bishop of the Reformed Church of Hungary brought to members of the national staff at a luncheon held in the church offices in North York, Ontario, on October 1. Bishop Csiha told staff members that little had changed in Romania in the six years since the fall of Nicolae Ceaucescu's Communist regime in 1989. Promises made to the Reformed Church remain unfulfilled. Properties seized from the church by the former government have yet to be returned.
