The often conflict-driven relationship between First peoples and governments, as demonstrated by recent land occupations at Gustafsen Lake, British Columbia, and Ipperwash, Ontario, continue to generate widespread interest and a high degree of press coverage. A corresponding increase in research and writing is taking place in many sectors -- academic, government, the publishing industry, and the emerging Native press. The revised edition of this bibliography, first published in 1986 by the Rupert's Land Research Centre, was inspired in part by the Oka land dispute of 1990.
