The recent performances of Devora Neumark, which are known for their relationship with the public and their insertion in urban places, present themselves as a form of political engagement and as desire to give meaning to the community. In a number of ways, this artist's work dovetails with the thought of Walter Benjamin and the concept of public space as defined by Hannah Arendt -- that is, as a space characterized by plurality and the exchange of speech and experiences.
