A group of women in New York City has found a way to share skills, interests and time, based on the service exchange or barter model.
On joining the Womanshare co-op skill bank, each member makes a list of what she has to share and what she needs, which is then included in a directory. Service providers earn credits, which can then be spent with anyone in the group. The recipient is debited the same amount, a debt that is cleared when she provides a service to someone else.
