It was a happy coincidence that I came upon these books about the same time. They rather complement each other, and both fill some considerable gaps.
Earlier this year Sheila Stover, an Indian advocate, genealogist and historian offered some observations on colonial American research. Noting the considerable intermarriage between Indians and Whites, she suggested that anyone with roots that stretch back into the 18th century and earlier in Colonial America should consider the possibility of Indian ancestry.
