Last November, a very special group of Canadian youth were honoured guests at the Canadian War Museum. These young people, representing child amputees from across the nation, were attending the "Operation Legacy" seminar.
The CHAMP Programme was founded by Cliff Chadderton, the Chief Executive Officer of the War Amps, in 1975, when the War Amps services were extended to provide care and support for child amputees. Despite the "veteran" nature of the parent organization, the youngsters were under no obligation whatsoever to concern themselves with veterans' issues.
