kidsworld decided to check in with a class of French kids for this issue because the world will focus on France this June and July for the 1998 World Cup (that's the Olympics of soccer, held only every four years). Most of the students are big soccer fans - 11 of them play on their school soccer team!
Their small town, Noisy-le-Roi, has only 8,200 inhabitants. It is situated 20 km west from Paris (the capital of France). The 15 students in the class range from 7 to 13-years-old. One of the girls is half Canadian - her family is from Toronto. They have seven teachers for the different subjects and they call their teachers all by their first names!
