NEW YORK -- Under an agreement whose significance skin dealers here say they don't completely understand and which has not yet been fully explained by the parties involved, Hudson's Bay London will begin selling North American wild furs through the Leningrad International Fur Auctions, starting this month.

The agreement, which involves Sojuzpushmina, the Soviet pur trading company, is considered unusual because London is already one of the world's major wild fur markets.
