NEW YORK -- James Galanos showed his technical wizardry with a fanfare of intricately engineered suits, dresses and evening entrance makers that were pleated and tucked to a fare-thee-well, as his spring-summer collection strolled down the runway at the Plaza Hotel Tuesday afternoon. The broad-shoulder, slim-skirted silhouette was predominant, punctuated by pleating and back interest, in swingy jackets, geometrically seamed tops and pants, and dresses that looked totally different coming and going.
