NEW YORK (FNS) -- Furrier David Leinoff appears to be winning a long-running legal battle to protect his patented feathering process used to create a stripe effect in long-haired fur coats.
Leinoff's latest lawsuit, the fifth in eight years, was filed here last June and charged 12 area fur manufacturers and retailers with infringing on the patent. Injunctions and damages were sought. Although the suit is pending, six of the defendants say a settlement with Leinoff is near.
