NEW YORK, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Amrep Corporation (NYSE-AXR) today announced that Intel Corporation has selected Amrep's Rio Rancho community near Albuquerque, N.M., as the site for the construction of a 450,000 square foot semi-conductor plant.

Intel has said that, when in full production, this new manufacturing facility will employ 1200 people. The new facility will join Intel's other Rio Rancho-located semi-conductor plant built in 1981, which is expected to have 800 employees by year end.

Intel stated that the facility will be completed by mid-1985 and, fully equipped, will cost a total of $300 million. In separate ...
