A recent survey reveals that 60 million people will camp out this year. Five million more campers will be added by 1990, according to the A.C. Nielson Company study, with nearly 25 million of that total visiting the outdoors in their own recreational vehicles. No wonder the RV business is booming.

Every year, OUTDOOR LIFE does its own evaluation of all the new vehicles and trends, and I go off to the RV shows where everything from tiny pop-up camping trailers to $250,000 motor homes are displayed in mammoth convention halls. All my duties should be such fun. There what impressed me at the RV makers' latest get-togethers.
