Kings Point Drops Out Of Knitting Business
Kings Point Knitting Mills, subsidiary of Candy Textile Corp., has closed its double-knitting plant here in a consolidation move tha marks the company's withdrawal from the knitting business, company president Elliot Greenberg said.
"It is just another company that has fallen victim to imports,' Greenberg told DNR. "Imports have cut into the demand for American products.'
Kings Point will continue to operate its dyeing and finishing plant in Bessemer City, N.C. Greenberg said the plant will dye and finish fabrics on a commission basis. Sales offices in New York and Florida will become fabric sales ...
