NORTH WILDWOOD, N.J., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- In its most extensive boardwalk renovation in more than a half century, the City of North Wildwood has replaced four blocks of boardwalk with Jarrah timber from Australia.
Funding for the $520,000 project included a $400,000 Federal grant from the Economic Development Administration, which U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D) and Congressman William J. Hughes (D-2nd District) helped obtain, according to North Wildwood Mayor Anthony T. Catanoso during a dedication ceremony today at which he proclaimed "Australia in North Wildwood Day." North Wildwood provided the balance of the funds.
