NEW YORK, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Reuters and United Press International (UPI) have signed a photo-exchange agreement that will enable Reuters to launch a full news pictures service outside the United States in January, 1985, the two companies announced today.
Under the 10-year agreement UPI's photos from the United States will form part of an international service delivered by Reuters. UPI will have rights to Reuters international photos in the United States.
Reuters will pay UPI $2.46 million over the first five years of the agreement. Reuters has bought the facilities of UPI's photo operations outside the United States for $3.3 million and will ...
