COSTA MESA, Calif., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Libertarian Party presidential candidate David Bergland today denounced the Reagan administration's impending partial nationalization of Continental Illinois Bank.
Bergland said the widespread bank nationalizations have "paralyzed the economies of France and Mexico." He also said that nationalizations of failing companies had such ill effects in the recent past on the British economy that the policy had become known as the "British disease."
Bergland called for the abolition of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) and the Federal Reserve System. He described those institutions as "the key instruments" ...
