NEW YORK, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Thomas R. Donahue has been named the grand marshall of the 1984 New York Labor Day Parade Monday, Sept. 3. Donahue is a native of New York City who started his union career with Service Employees Local 32B-J. AFL-CIO President Lane Kirkland will also be in the parade, which starts at 26th St. and 5th Ave. at 9 a.m. Last year, Sandra Feldman of the United Federation of Teachers was the first woman grand marshall.
