SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on 1983 annual average data, 20 percent of the U.S. labor force of Hispanic origin resides in a five-county, Southern California area.
Composed of four metropolitan statistical areas, the five counties -- Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego -- host almost 6 percent of the nation's total labor force and over half that of the State.
These data are part of a study released annually by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, and are contained in the publication, "Geographic Profile of Employment and Unemployment, 1983."
