SECAUCUS, N.J., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Matsushita Electric Corporation of America today announced that Keiichi Takeoka is retiring as president and chief executive officer of the company.

He will be succeeded by Kiyoshi Seki, former president of National do Brasil Ltda., a subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. of Osaka, Japan.

Takeoka, 69, came to the United States in 1974 and served in several executive capacities prior to his appointment as president and CEO of Matsushita Electric Corporation of America (MECA) in 1980.
