I say "Wolf Creek,' you say "powder,' and the conversation comes to an abrupt conclusion. Just about everybody knows that Wolf Creek is the recipient of ponderous dumps of powder snow--the most in Colorado--but little else is commonly known about the ski area.
The area is another example of that phenomenon where one outstanding quality dwarfs all the other parts of a place or person. It's something like Pisa's Tower or Nabokov's Lolita. The part becomes the whole.
Wolf Creek's 435 annual inches of snow could become the whole of almost any ski resort, and gladly so. It's awfully hard to look beyond all that ...
