SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Food and Drug Administration has approved Humana Hospital-Audubon in Louisville, Ky., as the site for continued clinical investigation of the Jarvik-7 artificial heart.
Dr. William C. DeVries will continue as the principal investigator for the clinical research program, which has been moved from the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City to the Humana Heart Institute International at Humana Hospital-Audubon. The hospital's institutional review board has approved six more Jarvik-7 artificial heart implants to complete the series of seven originally authorized by the FDA.
