NEW YORK -- The "specialty apparel" business that Beatrice Cos. announced Wednesday it plans to sell off has nothing to do with Halston Enterprises, or any other part of the International Playtex division of Beatrice.
A Beatrice spokeswoman said Thursday the proposed sale involves three companies that have been part of the Household Products Group within Beatrice's Consumer Products Segment: Velva Sheen Manufacturing Co., Cincinnati; Swingster, Shawnee Mission, Kan.; and Allison Manufacturing Co., based here.
