LUDWIGSHAFEN, West Germany, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Juergen F. Strube has been named to the board of executive directors of BASF as of Jan. 1, 1985, by the German-based chemical company's supervisory board, it was announced today.

On Aug. 1, 1985, Strube will assume responsibility for BASF's North American operations as well as the information systems and fiber operating divisions of the BASF Group. In this position he will succeed Detlef Dibbern, a member of the board of executive directors, who is to head human resources for BASF and will also be responsible for the company's Ludwigshafen and Antwerp, Belgium, works.
