While the organization may soon get a new name, the nearly 1,700 registrants at the 32nd annual Intermountain Oil Marketers Assn., convention in February discussed old problems, such as possible state motor fuel tax increases and other impending legislation.
Shortly after the meeting, IOMA members were mailed ballots about the proposed name change to Western Petroleum Marketers Assn. [NPN--Aug. '84, p23]. The main topic of discussion at Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace, however, was taxes. The problem is greatest in Montana where marketers face the spectre of a 3^ gal. state tax increase on diesel and gasoline.
