Fresh from the garden, crisp cucumbers are a special treat for summer salads and make excellent pickles for snacking any time. When you grow your own, you have a wide range of choices, including the mild "burpless" kinds, slicing and pickling varieties in many shapes and sizes, and novelties such as round lemon and ribbed Armenian cucumbers.
