Floating a fly is only one of many ways to catch fish, but it certainly is the most enjoyable. And it can be the easiest and the most successful way, too. I should know, I've tried them all.
It took me a long time to realize that flyfishing was so delightful because, for years, I avoided trying it--it all seemed too complicated. Too much concentration, practice, and equipment were required. It looked like a very intricate, overly involved, and unnecessarily complex procedure to simply catch a fish.
